Teleclasses:
These 60-90 minute offerings allow you to learn key ideas and skills at a location of your choice – at a time that fits your schedule. Classes will be recorded and transcribed.

Being Your Own Boss: The transition from employee to self-employed is not always easy. Consultants must be entrepreneurial, hold themselves accountable and often work.  This class includes a self-assessment to better understand the traits needed to make this transition, and whether this may be a strength or challenge for you. Since you are the most vital component of your business, make sure you have an objective appraisal of a key factor in your ultimate business success – YOU.
 
Building A Business Plan: In some ways, starting a consulting practice can be easier than starting other kinds of businesses such as a restaurant or retail business. This may cause consultants to miss a vital start-up piece – their Business Plan. Learn the key ingredients of building your business plan and a tool designed specifically for the professional consultant.

Getting Known – Marketing

Finding The Gold With Your Elevator Speech: Arm yourself with an elevator speech that identifies: Who you want to do business with; What prospects want or need from you; and Outcomes for clients who work with you.  Not only will prospects identify with what you have to offer, but they may even become a better referral source for your business too!

Speaking for Credibility and Clients: Prospect talks are a low cost way to find clients and position yourself as the expert. Learn how to create a short talk that can be used at Chambers of Commerce meetings, service organizations such as Rotary or other group opportunities. This is not a class on being a paid professional speaker – it’s designed to help you develop a targeted marketing message that provides value to your audience, and gains you clients and referrals as a result.

The Power of Networking: Going to a function and collecting business cards is not networking, it’s visiting.  This class will discuss three key elements of effective networking: having a clear objective before the event, preparing and arming yourself for the actions you will take during the event, and then implementing a follow-up plan after the event. Stop wasting time and money attending events with little marketing results for yourself.  Make sure your “Net” is working!

Tricks of the Trade Show: Much time and money is spent attending a trade show to market a company’s service. Unfortunately, 97% of most leads generated at trade shows do not result in clients or business.  The most common reasons are little or no follow-up post show, and the quality of the contacts is poor. Learn how to improve your chances of finding quality client leads, and what to do those critical days after your trade show.
